OUR HISTORY AND MISSION
--- In 1962 Anna and Harold Shanklin & cousin Mildred White purchased this property in
Lempster, NH. Over the years, hospitality has been offered to all who have come to visit.
--- In the spirit in which the
property was purchased and shared, the property is now being offered in a variety of ways to those in need of solitude, a spiritual
experience, peace, or respite from the grind of daily life.
--- We are pleased to be able to offer this property to those in
need and to those seeking spiritual space, peaceful retreat, and vacation renewal.

to come in peace, to be at peace here and to leave renewed with peace and love.
The Painted Bear cottage is a quaint, fully equipped and cozy retreat. The cottage can comfortably sleep six persons in a private
bedroom, an alcove sleeping area and a large hall space. A fully equipped kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and every
cooking utensil needed provides a pleasant space for those who like to cook. Satellite TV, comfortable furniture, fireplace,
full bath, and library complete the atmosphere for a "walk-in" and cozy down-time.
If you are looking for an upscale condo,
this is not the place for you. We are a rustic but pleasant facility where you can kickback and relax.
