OUR HISTORY AND MISSION
— In 1962 Anna and Harold Shanklin & Cousin Mildred White purchased this property in Lempster, NH. Over the years, hospitality has been offered to all who have come to visit.
— In the spirit in which the property was purchased and shared, the property is now being offered in a variety of ways to those in need of solitude, a spiritual experience, peace, or respite from the grind of daily life.
— We are pleased to be able to offer this property to those in need and to those seeking spiritual space, peaceful presence, and a welcoming hospitality.
— Our Vision is that this property will become a center for spiritual growth, peaceful activities, respite, retreats, events and welcoming of all human beings.
“Painted Bear” cottage is a quaint, fully equipped and cozy retreat. The cottage can comfortably sleep eleven persons in a private bedroom, an alcove sleeping area and a large hall space. A fully equipped kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and every cooking utensil needed provides a pleasant space for those who like to cook. Satellite TV, comfortable furniture, fireplace, full bath, and library complete the atmosphere for a “walk-in” and cozy-down time.
